Club Cruceros has been affiliated with Fundación Para Los Niños de La Paz, A.C. since the end of the year 2000. If you're coming to visit La Paz, please bring items to auction off at our annual charity drive to benefit the less fortunate children of La Paz. The money realized from this auction is used to support two programs to feed the children; one a breakfast program and the other a lunch program, in two neighborhoods on the outskirts of La Paz. These neighborhoods do not have electricity, piped in water, or a sewer system. Click Here for Photos of Children Fundación Para Los Niños also has a scholarship program where 86 children have been sent to junior and senior high school (in Mexico it is obligatory for the child to only attend school through the 6th grade.) We also use the proceeds from Subasta to purchase Christmas gifts for 250 children, to purchase gifts for 25 handicapped children who receive treatment from the Department of Rehabilitation and Special Education, and on Christmas Day Santa Claus visits Casa Cuna, an orphanage for children from the age of birth to six years.
Last year La Paz was hit by two hurricanes, the second of which destroyed many of the docks of the marinas. For this reason some yachtsmen have decided to bypass La Paz. Our fundraising efforts will be affected greatly without items to auction, and without the people to purchase those items. We are therefore asking for money donations to keep our programs going for the year.
If you would like to donate money you may write a check to Club Cruceros and send it to Club Cruceros de La Paz, A.C., APDO Postal 366, La Paz, B.C.S., Mexico, CP23000.
If you need a tax deduction for your donation you may write a check to International Community Foundation, indicate in the lower left hand corner "Children of La Paz," and send it to them at 11300 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite 115, San Diego, 92121.
Thank you for whatever help you can give. Just ten dollars will purchase a toy for a deserving child who may not receive anything without your help. |
