WELCOME
TO CLUB CRUCEROS de LA
PAZ
Club
Cruceros de La Paz A.C. is a non-profit Mexican corporation,
headquartered in Marina de La Paz in the city of La Paz, Baja
California Sur, Mexico. It was founded in 1988 by 164 charter
members. The Club currently has over 450 members. The Club’s
objectives are to:
Provide
information and assistance to the boating community.
Offer
emergency assistance to boaters.
Promote
safety and the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Serve
as a center for social events.
Establish
and maintain good relations with the Mexican Community.
Be
involved in charitable programs and spearhead special events.
Promote
goodwill among the international cruising community.
The
Club helps in the support of the Children’s Foundation (Fundacion
Ayuda Ninos La Paz). The main fundraiser for the Foundation is the
Annual “Subasta” (auction) in December. At the Subasta you will
find a festival of food, music, raffle, bazaar, and a silent &
live auction. All monies raised, along with cash donations received
throughout the year, go to help the Foundation in it’s effort to
provide assistance in some of the poorer neighborhoods, including the
breakfast and lunch programs, scholarship programs, and programs for
children in need of medical and emotional care.
The
Thanksgiving Pot Luck, with the turkeys prepared by the Club and open
to everyone, kicks off the cruising season. The La Paz Bay Fest in
April, a 3-day festival of music, food, beach games, water races,
seminars, workshops & a large sail boat race, celebrates the
winding down of the winter season and the starting up of the summer
season in the Sea of Cortez.
The
Clubhouse at Marina de La Paz houses a book exchange and a secure
mail locker to receive mail for Club members. A mail forwarding
service is also provided. There is a VHF radio available for
contacting other boaters. There is a daily (Mon - Sat) VHF Net on
Channel 22 at 8 am with tides, weather, mail, announcements, swaps
& trades, and more. Coffee is served at the Clubhouse during
the Coffee Hour from 9:30 to 10:30 Monday thru Saturday between
October and June; everyone is welcome. Tee shirts are on sale at
that time and videos are available,
We
welcome your friendship and your membership at $10 U.S., or $100
